Wise Business vs Revolut Business: the multi-currency face-off

April 16, 2026 ·

Both of these built their reputation on international money movement, and if that’s the reason you’re comparing them, the differences are worth understanding properly rather than picking whichever ad you saw first.

Wise’s approach

Wise is built almost entirely around transparent, close-to-mid-market exchange rates. You hold balances in dozens of currencies and convert between them with a clearly shown fee, no hidden markup buried in the rate. It’s not a full UK bank account in the traditional sense, it’s a money service, which matters for some formal banking requirements but rarely matters for day to day use.

Revolut’s approach

Revolut also offers multi-currency accounts and generally competitive rates, alongside a broader set of spend management and card control features aimed at teams. Its free tier has more limits on FX before fees kick in compared to Wise’s more consistently transparent pricing.

Where the actual saving is

If your business converts significant sums between currencies regularly, even a small percentage difference in exchange rate adds up fast. Wise’s pricing transparency tends to make it easier to predict your actual cost. Revolut can still work out cheaper depending on your specific volume and plan tier, it’s worth checking both calculators for your real numbers rather than assuming.

The honest recommendation

High volume, frequent currency conversion, want maximum transparency: Wise. Want currency features plus broader team spend controls in one app: Revolut. Both beat a traditional bank’s FX rates by a wide margin either way.
